Keighley, already notorious for racist paedophile grooming and child prostitution is in the news once again for all the wrong reasons. Only 48 hours after the Police cancelled the BNP’s “White Roses” national demonstration against racist rapes and child grooming, on Monday 7th November, fifteen year old school girls Zoe Ackroyd and Chelsea Blackburn were accosted by a gang of seven Asian youths (14-16yrs), whom they recognised as fellow pupils from Greenhead High School.
The Asians spat on them, racially abused them (white pregnant doges, slags, sleepers etc), punched them and beat them on the legs with sticks. Zoe and Chelsea had already been abused and spat on that day at lunch time, such racially motivated attacks being a daily ordeal for many of Greenhead's remaining minority of white pupils, as it is for white minority pupils in schools all over the Country.
Response
What has been the response of the authorities? Greenhead Headmistress Trisha McCarthy has promised to exclude the assailants once they have been identified and once the Police investigation has been completed. This is all the system allows her to do, but in effect punishes the innocent and rewards the guilty since the girls' parents have withdrawn their children from the school in the meantime, which given the practical difficulties of identification maybe of some duration.
The only ID photos available are 3 years old, therefore useless in identifying a youth who has gone through the huge changes which puberty brings. The likeliest results are that the youngest attackers are moved to another school, while the older ring leaders will leave school altogether and be beyond the reach of the system. Older readers may well be wishing for the return of approved schools or National Service or a short sharp shock treatment of the birch.
Police indifference
As for the Police, they have interviewed the girls, but could only spare a humble PCSO (Community Officer) to liaise with the school; breaking earlier promises to take this sort of hate crime seriously. They are now denying they have promised local Councillors in the past that they would brief white female pupils at a special assembly concerning the dangers posed by Asian male youth gangs.
Comprehensive external CCTV coverage outside the school is still not available, drug pushing is widespread and the pushers known to pupils. What is clearly needed is a Police task force spending the same amount of time and effort as they did on the BBC's so called undercover documentary 'The Secret Agent'.
Zoe is no stranger to abuse from Asian youths having been threatened with rape in the school toilets about a year ago, by a lad who has since been excluded and has left the Country. Only two things distinguish Zoe from thousands of other school girls around the country, her bravery in coming forward and not suffering in silence and the fact that she is the daughter of well known Keighley Councillor Angela Clarke. Angela said she will not rest until the perpetrators have been brought to justice.
